How much will my credit score increase after bankruptcy falls off credit report?

Credit-Repair-Guy answers:
In reality it won't rise all that much. Over time it has less and less effect on your score, so it actually has been rising(assuming you have been good in your credit managment) already. So you won't see a big jump from one month to when it is on and to the next when it is off.
But it will look better because the item is no longer on the report and people who manually review your report will not see it anymore.

how many points will my credit score increase after bankruptcy falls off?
Bankruptcy falls off in April 2011

Hard the say. There is no "set" amount that it will go up. It really depends on the rest of your credit situation. Actually, your credit has ALREADY been slowly recovering for the last few years. You will see a nice bump up, but do not expect anything major like 100 points or anything. Credit is SLOWLY rebuilt on purpose.

how much will my credit score increase after a bankruptcy is removed?

Credit-Repair-Guy answers:
It depends on the state you live in, but generally, even after you exit bankruptcy, it will appear on your credit report for 7-10 years. At that point, you could see anything from a 50 to 200 point jump, depending on where your score was right before the bankruptcy dropped off.
You should try simulating your individual situation at the link below. I've used this for my own credit score, and it's pretty accurate. It's Bankrate.com's FICO estimator. Try it once with the bankruptcy and once without and see what the difference is.

When a bankruptcy comes off your credit after 10 years, will your credit score increase?
![]()
Credit-Repair-Guy answers:
It is 7 years when bankruptcy is removed from your credit report.
But.. You can start to rebuild your credit LONG before that time. Capital One will give you a credit card shortly after filing bankruptcy..as does Premier One Bank.. Both can be found online...
Just a side note. I personally know a married woman that filed bankruptcy on her own. Her husband found himself in a finacial crisis a year later. When they checked each of their credit scores, they found Hers to be higher then his. So..long story short.. Bankruptcy sometimes is better for your credit score then NOT filing. He had been working at trying to get caught up..(he was a couple months late on mortgage, car payments and several credit cards)... He was finally able to find someone that would refinance his house so he could get things back in line...
